Interesting odd 2$ obsolete note, 1866, State of South Carolina, USA

Columbia, State of South Carolina, $2, dated January _ 1866. Cross-cut cancelled. Lovely high grade note. The note is odd - it is not finished for circulation, as the date was not inserted (note the empty field in the upper right). It was signed by the Comptroller General, but NOT signed by the State Treasurer. However, it was given a serial number (6192) and it was eventually cancelled, suggesting that it was indeed in circulation. Perhaps the date and the signature of the State Treasurer were left out by mistake. Uncirculated condition.

From an old US collection, the collector paid 145$ for it at some point judging from the collection ticket.
